Collaborators Creed
BY READING THIS CREED, YOU AGREE TO EMBRACE THESE GUIDELINES
There are three (3) common actions that are executed on the major Social Media Platforms. 1) The LIKE. 2) The COMMENT. 3) The SHARE. On Facebook and LinkedIn, it’s “like, comment and share”. On Twitter it’s “heart, comment and re-tweet”. On InstaGram it’s “heart, comment, send”. On YouTube it’s “thumbs up/down, comment, share”. These 3 commonalities are the basic foundation of interaction and engagement on platforms. For online collaboration to excel, there needs to be sincere, authentic and human interaction.
The "LIKE" - When you "like" a post, this tells the algorithms that you simply have and an interest in the post. It doesn't have much substance. All it really does is tell the system to send you notifications about the post. Not much more. A "like" is the equivalent of a silent nod or smile in "real life".
The "COMMENT" - When you "comment" on a post, it is more powerful than the trivial "like". The more words, sentences and phrases that you put in the comment become "keywords", the more the algorithm will make connections with similarities within the platform and also outside the platform on the Search Engines. Relevancy of the topic in the post, and the content of the comment matters. These relevant words will also make connections with your friends and connections and their friends and connections. The MORE substantial, WORDS the BETTER.
The "SHARE" - When you "share" a post, this is the MOST EFFECTIVE action you can execute on social media platforms. However, to get the maximum efficiency, you should SHARE the content with people, pages and groups that are relevant to the content and topic. Don't share a Post about a BBQ with a Group of Vegans.
