OCTOBER 2024 - Glencoe, MN
Healing Grief Ritual RETREAT
THE RITUAL
We will begin October 25th at 6pm. This is an authentic African grief ritual of the Dagara tribe. When we gather on Friday night, we will start building the community by connecting with each other – this will include food and some drumming! Saturday morning, Toby will talk about grief from the Dagara perspective, and the mechanics of the ritual. Most of the day will be spent preparing for our night ritual, including singing the grief song, creating a shrine and our grief bundles. After dinner on Saturday night, the ritual will start – and go however long it needs to go. The next morning we will gather early for more drumming and song and the closing of the ritual. Expect goodbyes and departure by roughly noon on Sunday.
